courses in the West. The back nine...marks some of the most breathtaking golf
outside of Pebble Beach." - Northern California Golf Guide 2001
The word is
spreading. Coyote Moon Golf Course is one of the finest mountain golf
experiences in the country, and with good reason.
The course sits on
250 acres of secluded rolling hills, majestic pines, and wildflowers. Without a
single house to spoil your view, playing Coyote Moon Golf Course offers an
experience seldom found in golf today. Spectacular scenery, tremendous weather,
quality service, and a phenomenal golf course are all located quite naturally in
the Sierra.
After a day of golf
at Coyote Moon Golf Course, enjoy an evening at Tahoe Mountain Club's
Wild Goose
Restaurant. The Wild
Goose brings Contemporary American dining to the north shore of Lake Tahoe
through the vision of Executive Chef Dale Ray. Phone 530/546-3640 for a
reservation.
Set along the south shore of
beautiful Lake Tahoe, Edgewood Tahoe is arguably one of the
most scenic golf courses in the world. Designed by George
Fazio and opening in 1968, Edgewood is rated by Golf Digest
Magazine as one of "America's Top Golf Courses". A
challenging but fair test of golf for all ability levels, a
choice of four sets of tees gives all golfers a course
suitable to their game, playing from 5567 yards to a
demanding 7445 yard test of golf.

A par 71 beauty
bordering forest and mountains. Generous fairways allow big
hitters to challenge but the Upper Truckee River flows
through 16 holes making them think twice.
Level course makes
walking conducive and nature enjoyable. The traditional
layout includes strategically placed bunkers and water and
straightforward greens. Open front nine tightens decidedly
on the inward nine.

Designed by Robert Muir Graves
The Northstar-at-Tahoe Golf Course has
two different and distinct 9's. To spice up the 2004 season, players will now
start their game on the more challenging half of the course, where shot making
is a premium.
The new front nine requires tight,
precise play with tree-lined, narrow fairways and small greens. On the back
nine, players can relax and enjoy well-lit and wide-open, links-style play with
frequent bunkers, three ponds and scenic views unique to Northstar's location in
the Sierras.
These changes will increase the speed and
flow of the course as well as provide optimum light and weather conditions for a
great day of golf.

If the greens at
the Old Brockway golf Course could sing, they would most likely do a song and
dance rendition of Bob Hope's Thanks for the Memories.
At more than 3300
yards including two par 5's, Old Brockway meanders through towering Jeffery
pines with majestic mountain and Lake Tahoe Views. It's no wonder this Tahoe gem
has been been rated as one of the top ten 9 hole golf courses in Northern
California by Golf Today Magazine. However, the charm and character of the Old
Brockway remains the same today, much as it did in the 1920's and 1930's. The
tight fairways and the postage stamp greens are reminiscent of golf in an era.
In 1934, Old
Brockway was home to the first Bing Crosby Golf Tournament. Unofficial at the
time, Bing would invite his group of friends for a week of fun and gold while he
was entertaining at Cal-Neva. After two years at Brockway, Bing moved his
tournament to Rancho Santa Fe and then up to Pebble Beach.
The golf course was
built in 1924 by Harry Comstock, as a recreational amenity for his celebrity
friends and his socialite guests at the Brockway Hotel. Harry purchased the old
hotel in 1928, with money from the silver mines of Virginia City. Comstock
formed a partnership with Robert O. Sherman, only son of General William T.
Sherman, called Brockway Land and Water Company, R.O. Sherman was a developer
from Southern California who had just completed developing Sherman Oaks,
California. He used the proceeds from that project to enter into partnership
with Comstock. The Old Brockway Golf Course was their project.
If You Know Golf, You Know Jack. Jack Was
Here. Now It’s Your Shot.
Through stately pines and blue sagebrush wind 18 holes of perfection, courtesy
of Jack Nicklaus.
For the past 40 years, Jack Nicklaus has
been revered for his work on the links and now, for his designs of them.
With an Audubon International
certification underway, the course melds so beautifully with the natural
landscape that you may wonder if it was the tee time that got you here or the
promise of a peaceful morning in nature. Only the Golden Bear himself could have
designed such a course, and playing here will surely rival a round at any of
Jack’s other masterpieces.
